As well as being ecologically correct, Liliana Castellanos is both environmentally & socially aware. By fusing the wool of the llama & the alpaca she has become an example through her use of native materials within the world of haute couture.
Liliana Castellanos has ventured with passion and creativity in Haute Couture for twenty years.
By fusing the privileged wool of two species of South American camelids (the llama and the alpaca) with the demanding esthetic values of today’s fashion industry, this outstanding Bolivian has become a point of reference and example through her use of native materials made of fine wool within the world of haute couture.
Her collections of unprecedented, elegant and glamorous pieces have transcended the Bolivian market to conquer new horizons in America and Europe.
Liliana wholeheartedly decided at a young age that her future was in the creative field of fashion, and she studied Fashion Design at the Italian – French Institute “Delego y Lagarrigue”. She then worked as a fashion assistant at Nina Ricci, the famed French house of fashion where she was introduced to more profound secrets of haute couture.
In 1997, by sheer personal initiative, Liliana also became a businesswoman, surprising the fashion world by obtaining a contract with the largest chain of stores in Spain, “El Corte Inglés”.
She then began to obtain agreements with international buyers, seduced by the quality, versatility and innovation of her garments.
Liliana has deep environmental and social awareness, and in addition to being ecologically correct, employs a number of talented tailors and seamstresses who assist her within this bold and creative project.
