Environmentally friendly & Eco-friendly are synonyms used to refer to materials considered to inflict minimal harm on the environment.

The renewability/replenishment of a resource in a short amount of time contributes to its’ eco-friendliness along with the ecological footprint. This relates to how much land it takes to bring one of the plants or animals to full growth & support it. Further consideration is given to how many chemicals it requires to grow/process it to make it ready for the market.

Hemp is just one example of this as it grows very quickly & densely making it difficult for weed to take hold, eliminating the need for herbicides and artificial fertilizers. It requires no irrigation as it thrives on the amount of water in the average rainfall & it is highly pest resistant.
